This year, for the first time, the Ohio Selected Jug Yearling Sale catalogue is available on the Equineline sales catalogue app for the iPad.

And, according to sale manager Randy Manges, that’s a move that was necessitated by the growing number of buyers who are looking to participate in the Ohio program.

“The catalogue has always been available on the website (lexingtonselected.com) and of course in print, but we’ve had a lot of requests from buyers both in Ohio and out of state who use the iPad app, and we wanted to accommodate them,” Manges said.

“We’ve had a record number of requests for print catalogues this year, and the app is yet another way to increase the visibility of the sale and its horses to potential buyers,” he added.

The Equineline sales catalogue app may be downloaded from the App Store on one’s iPad.

This year’s Ohio Jug sale will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Eden Park Equestrian Complex in Sunbury. The sale is restricted to Ohio-eligible yearlings and there are more than 260 head catalogued.

Manges said that with the tremendous growth of the Ohio program, several new consignors have come on board to a sale that has always been bedrocked by high-profile consignments from Midland Acres, Hickory Lane Farm, Spring Haven Farm, Winterwood Farm, and others.

“This year you’ll see several new faces at the sale, including Walnut Hall Ltd., Saga Farm and Pond-A-Acres,” Manges said. “And Steiner Stock Farm has returned as well. I think across the board it’s the best sale we’ve ever put together in terms of quality.”
